Hi! Welcome to my little slice of the internet. My name is Mindie, and I am a stay at home, homeschooling mom of 7 (yes, we know how it happened, we might have more, and yes, I do know what birth control is!). I was raised on a farm for a number of years, and my husband was raised in the city. Needless to say, it's taken a long time (14+ years of marriage) to get where we are today! Our goal is to be as self sustaining as possible, which, to many of our friends and family, seems crazy! Hence the name, Relatively Stable Acres. To many, we're crazy. That's okay though! I'd rather be happy and crazy than miserable and "sane"! This is what makes me happy: providing natural, as organic as possible, healthy food for my family that I had a part in growing. This is where I feel I am supposed to be, farming with my family.
As I write this, we have 3 dogs, some barn cats, laying hens, meat chickens, some cattle (although none to milk yet, coming soon I PRAY!), dairy goats, and 2 horses. I also have an overcrowded garden, that will be much bigger next year!
We are a family that serves the Lord, loves to LAUGH, loves good food, and loves spending time together. The children and I cannot tolerate gluten, so we are 100% gluten free as well. I LOVE to cook, so I will be posting my creations on here as time allows. Summer is a very busy time for us with the boys in baseball, gardening, and other outdoor stuff. I also double as the Crazy Goat Lady (there's 2 of us on the page) on Facebook. Feel free to find me there.
